Prof. Neelu Rohmetra, Director IIM Sirmaur received the 'First Ladies Award' on January 20th, 2018. The felicitation event was held at Rashtrapati Bhawan, wherein she joined over interaction with 100 other exceptional women achievers in the Country in varied areas.
Guest lecture (centred on Future of Banking) at IIM Sirmaur
In his first guest lecture (centred on Future of Banking) at IIM Sirmaur, Mr. Rajiv Vaid shed light on how the advent of new banking technologies such as Block Chain is gradually eliminating the need for banks altogether. He also touched upon the emerging trends and key focus areas in banking, both from the perspective of consumers as well as banks.
Guest Lecture (Transformation To New Leadership Roles)
In the third guest lecture of the Colloquium series centered on the theme “Transformation to new leadership roles”, Mr. Krishnan Venkiteswaran, Head HR, Control Print Limited, shed light on various leadership styles and the relevance of each in today’s day and age.
IIM Sirmaur hosted Mr. Santosh Wakhloo, Vice President, JK Paper Ltd., who delivered a guest lecture on ‘Leadership’ to the students of PGP04 batch. Mr. Wakhloo talked about the role of a leader in thinking big, planning big and creating differentiation.

IIM Sirmaur feels privileged to host Mr. Sunil Kanojia, Director, Tirupati Medicare Ltd. India, for interacting with the students on the topic “Campus to Corporate transformation” under the guest lecture series, Colloquium.
“Why is changing the only constant in the world? Who was the first person who led the change in Human Life?”, Mr. Dharm Rakshit, Head HR, Hero Motocorp Ltd., asked the students, in the latest guest lecture of the Colloquium Series centred on the theme, “Leading change”.
The 70th Republic Day was celebrated with great enthusiasm and patriotic fervour at Indian Institute of Management Sirmaur, Himachal Pradesh. Professor Neelu Rohmetra, Hon’ble Director IIM Sirmaur, received the guard of honour and unfurled the National Flag.
As one of the major milestones since its establishment, Indian Institute of Management Sirmaur signed on March 06, 2019 Memorandum of Understanding with Central Public Works Department (CPWD), Government of India for construction of its Phase I of Buildings and Infrastructure of permanent campus at Dhaula Kuan, District Sirmaur, Himachal Pradesh.
'Entrepreneurship is living a few years of your life like most people won't, so that, you can spend the rest of your life like most people can't.'
An Entrepreneur is a person who believes that the best way to predict the future is to create it. The E-Cell of IIM Sirmaur has dedicated itself to foster such an entrepreneurial spirit among the students. E-Cell serves as a platform for the students to demonstrate their entrepreneurial skill set and convert their ideas into business realities. It hosts regular events, workshops and guest lectures from various startup domains to inspire and enrich the knowledge of the students.
Sports committee is dedicated to providing a conducive atmosphere for students to relax after their demanding academic schedule. This year, it has successfully conducted its first ever inter college sports fest as a part of Sierra'19, the annual sports, cultural and management fest at IIM Sirmaur. The event attracted more than twenty colleges from across the country.
Sports committee has conducted indoor events including Chess, Carom, Snooker, Table Tennis and Powerlifting. It has also organised events of Football, Cricket and Badminton spread throughout the academic year. It has recently upgraded the gym to help the students maintain fitness. Sports Committee is dedicated to further building the sports infrastructure at IIM Sirmaur and promoting a healthy competitive sporting spirit among all the students.
Sanskriti – Cultural Committee
One of the most prized possessions of the Institute is its rich cultural diversity brought in by students from various states and cultures. With an intention to enrich the quality of India's unparalleled culture & heritage, the Cultural Committee cherishes diversity by celebrating various festivals like Eid, Holi, Christmas, etc. and events like Sierra & SPIC MACAY, throughout the year. The committee also seeks to provide a platform for the students to hold social gatherings and relish with each-other in their leisure. The committee constantly works to raise awareness about different aspects of diversity inclusion and strives hard to inspire young minds to imbibe the values embedded in it.
"The Mess Committee serves as a link between students and their homes when it comes to food. It always looks forward to providing the students, faculties and staff members with a diverse and devour Food Menu that undergoes monthly updates. It also serves special festive dishes to make students feel at home at times of celebration. It entertains special requests and cooking assistance from the students and even lets them cook whenever they can contribute. The Mess Committee strongly believes in open culture and in light of the same has also organised outdoor Food Nights in the divine foothills of Himalayas, several times. The committee believes in the idea of inclusion and attempts to leverage the valuable inputs of the Institute’s stakeholders.
The committee also enjoys the constant support of the administration in procuring all sorts of infrastructural help to serve the students well. It truly understands the responsibility of serving future CEOs of this country and thus to implement as many as operational concepts to maintain the internal supply and procurement of the Mess."

The committee aims to help the current students with placement prospects & mentorship advice by sharing the alumni’s experience through proposed meets & alumni newsletters.
It encapsulates the Staff, Faculty, Students & the Alumni in an ideal ecological system enabling the growth of the institute, as a whole.
Sankalp – CSR Committee
“Sowing Hope into Lives” - This is what Sankalp, the CSR Committee of IIM Sirmaur stands for.
Today, the goals of the corporates also include contribution to the development and welfare of society and what’s a better place to inculcate such values in future managers than a B-school?
‘Sankalp’ believes in starting early and progressing steadily. It addresses social issues in multiple spheres. From cleanliness drives to blood donation camps, Sankalp strives to inculcate the culture of 'Social Betterment' in tomorrow's pioneers.
Known for making a difference to the underprivileged section around the college through clothes donation drives to organizing national level CSR competitions, Sankalp believes in making a difference on every scale, small or large.
Most recently, Sankalp partnered with a local Government body to assist SHGs and develop a Sustainable Model of Waste Management in its locality. Sankalp welcomes anyone and everyone willing to make a difference.
The Placement Committee
Placements is a student-run activity under the supervision of a faculty member serving as the Chairman, Placements. The student placement coordinators are appointed after a rigorous selection process.
For the Summer Internships of the batch 2015-2017, companies like Pearson India, Dexter Consultancy Private Limited, VAS Data Services Private Limited (Yepme), Teach For India etc. offered profiles such as Data Analyst, Brand Executive, Management Intern, Sales and Marketing, and Research and Design. The placement committee is committed towards making continuous improvements to the Summer and Final Placements process.
The Media Cell
The Media Cell works as a liaison between the Institute and the outer world through print, digital as well as social media. It stays au courant with all the significant events happening in the institute, and communicates them to the wider world through various media outlets. The committee manages the content on social media platforms and interacts with the relevant stakeholders with an aim to enhance the visibility of the institute. The committee meticulously manages IIM Sirmaur’s presence on official pages and accounts of Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and LinkedIn. Every year, members of Media Cell release a yearbook featuring the most memorable events involving IIM Sirmaur. This academic year, they are planning on starting a blog for students and professors.
